At the end of 2019, Chevrolet presented the second generation of the Onix family, among several surprises, one of them was interesting, the design of the name of the compact sedan version. With a little delay, the model was named Onix Plus, leaving the Prisma name, which was expected in the previous generation’s changes and which did not happen.

With a new name – and all the configurations presented in the family restructuring -, the sedan arrived. Already in the first year of full sales, and even affected by this epidemic, it was not only the best-selling three-volume car in the country, but it was sold more than twice the second place overall, Toyota Corolla, and. “I did not see the color” of the opponents.

In 2021, Chevrolet was one of the brands most affected by the serious semiconductor crisis and saw its sales drop, losing the position of the best-selling brand and the Onix (hatch) losing the title of the most commercial model. However, the Plus maintained the design, despite the volume loss, and finished the year well ahead of other sedans.

Now, after seven months of 2022, the model follows the recipe and does not leave gaps for rivals, in general, for Corolla, and among compacts, currently with Fiat Cronos in second place. We tested the top three-volume version, the Premier (R$113,520) and found out why it was so successful.

Introduced less than three years ago, Onix Plus still has a very updated look. Highlight the visible front grille, with a chrome fillet that divides the piece in half and perfectly matches the headlights. LED daytime running lights at the bottom of the bumpers give the sedan a more elegant look.

Diamond wheels also contribute to the more functional style of the top version of the Onix Plus line, the rear has a classic three-dimensional design.
