Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric is the big winner in the Green Car category in the Car of the Year 2022 award. commitment to the environment.
“We were very pleased with this award, as it confirms that our strategy is in line with what Brazil needs. We were the pioneers with the introduction of hybrids, and now our thoughts are how to make Volvo an electric company in Brazil”, said João Oliveira, general director of operations of Volvo.
Volvo’s first electric car, the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric arrived in Brazil in September for R$389,950. A direct rival to the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace and Mercedes-Benz EQC, the SUV is equipped with a mechanical assembly called the P8. It consists of two electric motors, one for each axle, which produces 413 hp of power. The tension is all around.
The performance numbers were worthy of a V8 muscle car. In our track test, it bested the Mustang from 0-100 km/h by 0.1 seconds and sprinted in 4.1 seconds.

The car also debuts a new set of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a system that consists of a set of radars, cameras and aerial sensors and is prepared to receive additional developments – towards autonomous driving.
