Volkswagen Tiguan 3: a new generation is on the way

At Volkswagen we are old masters in the art of concealment. This can be seen by taking a closer look at the photos of the new Volkswagen Tiguan 3 taken by scoop hunters. Yet the car pictured looks close to a normal car, it’s just an illusion. Fake grille, fake taillights, stickers on the tailgate, stickers imitating exhausts, everything is done to mislead our eyes.

It is impossible to know what the grille of this new model will be, it is about the sticker. The same thing for projectors that also have the right to hide.

But you can’t hide everything and it’s difficult to fix the side line and especially the two good lines drawn in the front and back of the car under the belt line. It’s also not so easy to hide the glass bezels or even the sides with the holes or the modified rear quarter window.

The sides are at least hidden. You can see two beautiful sculpted lines, one starting from the headlights, the other going to the taillight.

The car also appears to have a slightly longer wheelbase and rear overhang. This can prove that the Tiguan can stay longer than the old model and that it will make the renewal of the Tiguan Allspace very high, which should not be changed as it is. We mentioned instead the arrival of the Chinese model from Volkswagen, the Tayron. If confirmed, it will not be the current Volkswagen Tayron, but its replacement which is not expected before 2025.

The Tiguan 3 should take a few centimeters in length (wheelbase and rear overhang), to compensate for the absence of the Tiguan Allspace which should not be renewed as it is.

For the Tiguan, the arrival in the dealer should take place at the end of 2023. In this event, we should know which engines will be offered for this model. It is a safe bet that there will still be petrol engines, but that these will either be hybrids at 48 V or available with a rechargeable hybrid system.

Under the hood of the Tiguan there will still be hot engines, but thanks to the hybrid, emissions should be significantly reduced.
