A story that continues to be written
It is no small feat that the German brand puts forward the publication of this new series! The story written between Volkswagen and the Star Wars world began several years now. Already in 2011, the brand launched a parody announcement for a science fiction film. In it, the little boy dresses up as Darth Vader and tries to use force on a pile of items inside the house. Of course, he just manages to get a brand new Volkswagen Passat. Then, in 2012, the brand repeated the experience, this time with a dog choir barking at the sound of Imperial March from Star Wars. These two campaigns conducted during the Super Bowl are a huge success!
So it is in continuation of its previous campaigns that Volkswagen introduces its two new types of electric vehicle IDs. buzz. On the other hand, it is the first collaboration that takes place between the designers of the German brand and Lucasfilm.
“Through close collaboration with Lucasfilm, we combine the timeless and functional structure of identity. Buzz with the fascinating and comprehensive world of Obi-Wan Kenobi»explained the head of architecture at VW, Jozef Kaban, about the party.
The light side VS the dark side
With this new edition, two cars are highlighted. They are opposed to re-creating the same symmetry that exists in the Star Wars world. One is called Buzz Light Side Edition. Here is a reference to the main character of this column: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Her body is also covered with film in the color of the final garment. So it is part of the beige. A beautiful blue note accompanies it to recall the color of its blade. The other is called Buzz Black Side Edition. This is a popular memory Vador dark. The body function is black and the red details are reminiscent of the character. So these demonstration models are electronic in all its forms as they run electricity and record reports “electricity” between the two main characters. The last eye is visible behind the cars: the police “Aurebesh” Star Wars replaces Volkswagen.
This collaboration with Lucasfilm is the subject of the original release of the series! However, the two minivans, which are inspired by the struggle between the forces of good and evil, remain theatrical models and cannot currently be the subject of any marketing.
