VIDEO – This $17 Million Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta Won’t Be Revealed Anytime Soon

A rare Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta, of which only three were built, was badly damaged after an accident in Croatia.

There are only 3. And one of them only has 3 wheels. The $17 million supercar was participating in events across Croatia organized by the Supercar Owners Circle. The car attracted an array of exotic cars, including several Bugatti Chirons, a Bugatti La Voiture Noire, a Zenvo TSR-S, an Apollo IE, two Rimac Neveras, an Apollo Project Evo and two Pagani Zonda Cinques. Video of the crash shows a Zonda HP Barchetta was driving behind the Apollo Project Evo at the time. When he accelerated a little to the left, the Pagani driver was a little in a hurry. He lost grip on the rear wheels. The driver failed to correct the slide and crashed directly into the side of the Ford Fiesta which was heading in the opposite direction.

Although the accident did not occur at high speed, the Italian supercar sustained significant damage. Most notably, the left rear wheel, hub, brakes and suspension components were all ripped from the Zonda and appear to have been jettisoned into the housing.

More fear than harm

Much of the carbon fiber work on the left side of the car was also damaged, as was the front left wheel. As if that wasn’t enough, most of the rear fascia was damaged. The Ford Fiesta also sustained extensive damage. Fortunately, neither Pagani nor Ford occupants were injured in the accident.

Given the rarity of the Zonda HP Barchetta, it seems likely that the car’s owner will have it repaired quickly at the Pagani factory. Homeowner’s insurance premiums will also increase significantly. A shame.
