Prices are going up a lot
Another result of the evolution of the new market and the scarcity of certain types of cars on the second-hand market, the average price is constantly increasing. According to Emil Frey dealers in data from last April, prices had already increased by 13% on the second-hand market by that date. Autoscout24 statistics speak of an increase in the average sale price of used cars of 7.5% for the year 2022 and 1.6% in the month of August alone. Our colleagues from An echo even mentioning a 20% increase in the first half of 2022 compared to 2021! Unfortunately, it’s not just the price of new cars that is going up. And used models are sometimes more expensive than the same new models.
