“Top team or none!”

Porsche’s finance director has announced that the German brand will only work with the highest bid on the day it will be available on the grid in Formula 1, in this case the Red Bull Tournament.

In May, Volkswagen chief executive officer Herbert Diess confirmed that Audi and Porsche will enter Form 1 in 2026, but the full path to the game has not yet been established.

The Red Bull team insists that the team that Porsche will join and from now on, its financial director Lutz Meschke has announced that in Zuffenhausen, we will work with “strong ally”.

“If we take part in the most prestigious championships in motorsport, then it will only have a strong partner.” showed Meschke, as reported by the newspaper faz.net.

Big boss Diess is aware for his part that joining forces with a leading team like Red Bull when new engine rules should see the light of day is an advantage for playing the front line from the start.

“You will not succeed if you join a new team, explains VW general manager. It takes you five or even ten years to play leadership. In other words, you can only get involved if you have a big change in code ”

“It is currently being done in F1, as there will be more engine power and synthetic oil will be used by 2026. To sharpen your weapons properly, you need three or four years to develop a new engine.”

“It means we have to make our choice now about getting involved in Form 1, otherwise we will have to wait ten more years. Porsche and Audi think it is the right thing to do, and they are paying attention.” concludes Diess.
