An area previously dominated by Jeeps, the SUV segment has the Volkswagen T-Cross as its leader in 2022. Despite slipping in recent months, the Polo SUV is still the market leader, but it is starting to see significant progress from the Chevrolet Tracker. and worry enough.
In July and August, the Onix SUV was the best seller in the segment, but for the year it is still in fourth place. In total, there are more than 3 thousand units that separate it from the T-Cross, making the Volkswagen model still a breather before seeing its accumulated lead threatened.
The nearest Jeep Compass, with 40,713 units, according to Fenabrave, versus 42,598 for the Volkswagen T-Cross. After taking eighth place in July, the Polo SUV responded by going second in the segment. A position that also ensured its entry into the top 10 best-selling models in Brazil that month.
Another Polo SUV, in this case the Nivus, went up a notch and returned to regular production. The segment also saw a strong decline for the Nissan Kicks, which fell from third to seventh place. In turn, he rode a Hyundai Creta. The Fiat Pulse slipped from second to fifth place, nearly running away with the Jeep Renegade, which was stuck in sixth place.
The Renault Duster left the top 10 to make way for the only seven-seater SUV in the ranking: the Jeep Commander. The Toyota Corolla Cross dropped from seventh to ninth place in August.
