the PS5 and Xbox Series X version will arrive well into 2022

The Witcher 3 will be eligible for an upgraded version for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Long awaited, it will finally be released before the end of 2022. Studio CD Projekt announced it in a tweet.

The Witcher 3, released in 2015, is considered one of the best action/RPGs in video game history. Soon it will have the right to a new guy and a “new-gen” version, so it’s dedicated to PS5 and Xbox Series X (but also PC). Today we have an exit window.

In a tweet, the studio has announced that this revised and updated version of The Witcher 3 will arrive well before the end of 2022. Good news, as this project (originally scheduled for 2021) has been repeatedly postponed due to development concerns.

The Witcher 3 will look better than ever on PS5 and Xbox Series X

This “new-gen” version will include Major image enhancements and ray tracing additions. Please note, this is the same game as the original. The graphics have been enhanced, and have not been reworked from the ground up as they were with the most recent Part I of The Last of Us, which is Rework. The distinction is sometimes difficult between Remake and Remaster. This PS5 and Xbox Series X version was developed by Saber Interactive (now merged into the studio), already working on the Switch version.

The Witcher 3 Remaster isn’t the only big project on fire for CD Projekt Red. Now that the concerns over Cyberpunk 2077 have been resolved, the studio has announced the upcoming arrival (2023) of the game’s first major expansion. Named Phantom Liberty, This DLC will take place during the main campaign and will allow us to explore the Pacifica district in more depth. Content that should rival in size The Witcher 3 expansions, namely Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

The studio is also working on the fourth version of The Witcher, this time based on Unreal Engine 5. It has no intention of releasing Geralt de Riv anytime soon, as this episode is said to be the beginning of a new saga.
