Volkswagen is formalizing the second generation of its Amarok imageafter a well-coordinated teaser campaign.
This new generation is developed by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, and aims to maintain its standard at the international level. International model, created in Germany but also in Australia, and produced in South Africa! It targets the Australian market, but also New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
In terms of structure, it was a matter of preserving the identity of the first generation that was able to put itself in place, and 830,000 copies were issued. The designers wanted to make the new generation more interesting, especially from the front. The grille consists of two chrome bars that connect to the light segments and emphasize the width of the car.
In the profile, the guest retains its arches of round wheels, which can carry rims up to 21 ″. At 5,350mm, this new Amarok is 96mm taller than the old model. It is offered in two body styles: DoubleCab of 4 doors, or SingleCab with 2 doors. The first can carry a standard European mattress in the loading area, while the SingleCab version can take two. The load continues and now reaches 1.16 tons.
Volkswagen has also considered those who enjoy camping wild. The static load of the roof makes it possible to install a 4-person roof tent, provided in the equipment list!

The 4MOTION all-wheel drive is offered in Amarok, with two versions. One is permanent, while the other allows for establishment based on the type of driving and terrain.
On the crossing side, the new Amarok improves its performance by a has the potential which goes from 500 to 800 mm.
Five turbocharged engines, TDI in good condition
Amarok 2 offers the pride of diesel space, with 4 diesel engines and one gasoline. Offer starts in Africa with a 2.0 TDI 150 hp four-cylinder engine. In some markets, the offer will start with a 2.0 TDI of 170 hp. Then there is the 2.0 TDI biturbo that will be released in 204 or 209 hp depending on the country. The upper part of the column is represented by a generous V6 3.0 TDI of 241 or 250 hp.
By nature, only one suggestion: block 2.3 of the same 302 hp! Starting with the 209 hp Bi-TDI engine, the Amarok will be fitted with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox and electronic switch that replaces the old 8-speed gear.
But some of the most basic transmissions are in software: 6-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission.
Depending on the engine, the Amarok can pull up to 3.5 tons.
Volkswagen has not forgotten the driving aids, with 20 available devices such as ACC + adaptive cruise control or IQ.LIGHT LED matrix lights.
This new generation therefore seems to be well equipped to face the competition, as well as the new Ford Ranger.
