The new Citroën C4 X and ë-C4 X arrive in Europe: and in Brazil? – Prism

Citroën has today revealed in Europe the C4 X and ë-C4 4, new Fastback-style crossovers combining different elements of a sedan and an SUV with some space for sale in Brazil.

For a new visual proposition, the C4 has well-rounded headlights paired with the brand’s double Chevron and a large set of eyes above a wide and interrupted grille. There are new cutouts on the hood and sides while the rear has boomerang-shaped taillights that extend sideways. The rear has a wide trunk lid and almost directly closed over the very bold Citroen logo.

Would you have a chance in Brazil? “ë-C4 X and C4 X contribute significantly to our brand presence and sales expansion goals, especially for international and European markets,” said Vincent Cobée, CEO of Citroën. And “international” can be directly related to brand expansion plans here. The first step will be the launch of the C3, which is already ready but still facing problems in the production chain to be launched as a compact car as Stellantis hopes.

In Europe, the C4 X uses the Puretech three-cylinder engine set known by the group’s brands called “100” and “130” with a 1.2 turbo engine with 102 hp and 20.9 kgfm with a six-speed manual gearbox, 1.2 with 130 hp and 23.4 kgfm with an eight-speed automatic transmission and also a 1.5 turbodiesel of 130 hp and 30.6 kgfm of torque.

In the unprecedented electric option, there is a clean engine with 136 hp and 26.5 kgfm of torque with a range of 360 km (European WLTP cycle) and a charge time that varies from eight hours in the internal wall box (7 up to 11 kWh) or about thirty minutes at high-speed charging stations.

Do we have a chance?
The probability of these examples given here in practice is remote. But there are some signs in the opposite direction. Stellantis has been embracing all segments and Citroën has no average style in the country. The current C3 and C4 Cactus are already part of the recovery plan for the French brand, which will be the main character of the Chevron brand twice over time.

Only Peugeot has a mid-size model, the 3008, which is imported from Europe in the same molds the C4 X would fit. If it is too expensive, for “marketing” Citroën can import the ë-C4 X to Brazil since other brands in the group have electric models (Fiat has the 500-e, Peugeot has the e-208 and Jeep has the Compass. 4xe which is a hybrid)

Also in favor is the fact that the group’s volume brand, Fiat, is exploring the segment of crossovers and sports design with the Fastback, which arrives at the end of the year. What does all this mean? There is space, conditions and experience at Stellantis for the launch of the new C4 X in Brazil. The means for this and the requirements already exist.
