The Chevrolet Blazer EV is presented with a range of 530 kilometers
Chevrolet is one of the brands investing in electrification. To attract the automaker’s already-captured audience, GM devised a strategy to present established models with a new range of motion.
One of the models, which even reached the Brazilian market, is the SUV Blazer. The model represents another important step towards the brand’s strategy to expand the offering of zero-emission vehicles, which, at the same time, enters one of the world’s fastest-growing segments: premium electric SUVs.
The Blazer EV is scheduled to debut in the middle of next year in the United States. Soon, it will be launched in other key markets, including the Brazilian.
As reported by the brand, the car will be offered in several configurations of finish and performance, including one with an additional 530 kilometers of estimated range with a full load.
GM estimates that the car can have a range of up to 130 kilometers on a 10-minute charge.
In addition, it will be offered with front, rear or all-wheel drive (AWD), which will allow users to find the best option for the experience on board a 100% electric car.
The SUV will have RS and SS versions
Among the available versions will be more Chevrolet models, such as the RS, which focuses on design, and the SS, which adds more performance. It will be the first time for the brand to have an electric car with this variant.
“The Blazer EV creates a new variant for electric SUVs, with intuitive options and technologies that help keep Chevrolet at the forefront of the fastest-growing segment of zero-emissions vehicles,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet, Americas. From the north.
The Blazer EV will be part of a new generation of electric vehicles that includes the Equinox EV SUV and the Silverado EV pickup, each of which is at a different stage of development. Chevrolet currently sells models such as the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV globally.
“We are taking big steps to offer more options for zero-emission models, which makes the migration to EV easier than ever”, adds the executive.
Performance and design inspired by the brand’s sports cars
The Blazer EV SUV is built on GM’s Ultium platform. In terms of design, the car has athletic lines that ensure an attractive body and performance identity inspired by icons such as the Camaro and Corvette.
So much so that the Blazer SS (AWD) was designed to deliver more than 560 hp of power and exceed 90 kgfm of power. That means a 0-100km/h acceleration of less than 4 seconds, according to GM estimates.
“The Blazer EV SS has the spirit of a true supercar,” explains Bell. “And while this model represents the pinnacle of performance within our EV portfolio, all other models offer features that will surprise and delight even high-end car enthusiasts.”
Still in SUV shape, it will have an all-LED exterior lighting system with an animation effect for greetings and goodbyes. Inside, the cabin will be luxurious, spacious and decorated with sustainable materials that are soft to the touch.
In terms of connectivity, the highlight is the multimedia with a 17.7″ screen and an 11″ digital instrument panel, which is also customizable. Advanced safety technologies such as an automatic reverse gear emergency braking system will also be present.
In addition, the car, which will be manufactured at the GM plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, will have front seats with ventilation and heating.
