The GMC Sierra 1500 arrives in the US to compete with the RAM

General Motors presented the new GMC Sierra 1500 2022, a pickup truck launched in the North American market in eight versions: Pro WT, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, Denali, AT4X and Denali Ultimate.

The new GMC Sierra 1500 promises to compete for space with the RAM 1500 and the Ford 1500. The new model features improvements in the cabin, provided by the 13.4-inch Google media center, available from the SLE version.

The notification monitor, aimed at assisting the driver, is 15 inches and the instrument panel is 12.3 inches.

The top-of-the-line version of the Denali Ultimate comes with a well-refined cabin thanks to leather on the seats and panel finish. The roof has a coating called premium microsuede.

The car’s dashboard is also reinforced with wood, bringing more durability to the pickup and topographic map graphics while the details are attractive.

The new model, aimed at off-road use, provides autonomous navigation on thousands of kilometers of roads in Canada and the United States.

The AT4X version was released with a focus on improving the mechanics of the truck. The engine and transmission are the same as the Denali Ultimate, but the dampers are adjustable, and the springs increase the travel of the front suspension by 50mm and the rear by 25mm, compared to the AT4 variant.

The AT4X is still offered with a separate lock called e-lock front and rear, as well as an off-road chassis and special suspension tuning.

Engine options are plentiful. Among them is the 5.3-liter V8 engine in the most expensive versions with 360 hp and 53 kgfm of torque.

The new pickup also has versions with two different turbo engines, being the 2.7 turbodiesel, the same as the previous generation, the first of them. With the new update, the power reaches 314 hp and 58 kgfm of torque. The last option is the I-6 turbodiesel 3.0, which allows the GMC Sierra to pull 5,987 kg with 280 hp and 63.6 kgfm.

Without plans to arrive in Brazil, the pickup is offered for the US market from U$32,495 (R$ 183,271), but the highest price can be almost three times: U$80,395 (R$ 456,473) is the amount charged. and Denali Ultimate.
