On sale since 2019, the Kia XCeed has already gone through the “mid-career overhaul” box this summer. In this event, the “crossover” version of the Korean compact receives a modern cosmetic update with new headlights as well as a redesigned grille and revised shield. What “highlights the emotional character of the car” according to the official press release published by the Korean manufacturer, that’s all. Dithyrambic as it should be, this press release also appreciates the “high-tech” light signature of LED lights on the back or the presence of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with improved graphics on the dashboard. In terms of equipment, cruise control is now integrated with navigation to adjust the vehicle’s speed according to conditions (and even slow the vehicle itself before turning).
The revised XCeed also gets a new GT-line Premium finish with a premium appeal, an aesthetic that “brings it closer to the GT” according to the press release and its still measured sound. For this and like similar finishes from many car manufacturers, the XCeed GT-line Premium is satisfied with shields with false ventilation, specific 18-inch rims or a few details for a “sporty” appearance including the interior ( flat steering wheel and multiple seat covers). Under the hood, the modified Kia XCeed offers two versions of gasoline and small 1.0-liter of 120 horses and 1.5-liter of 160 horses available in manual gearbox or automatic transmission. On the diesel side, the CRDi block of the 136 horsepower sub-hybrid also leaves a choice between a manual gearbox and an automatic transmission. A hybrid petrol variant of the 141 also remains on the list.
The revised XCeed starts at €26,590 for the 120 horsepower petrol version at the Motion end. The diesel is negotiated from €30,590 in the same finish. As for the GT-line Premium trim, it costs €31,990 with the 120 horsepower petrol engine and up to €37,890 for the diesel with automatic transmission. Note that the plug-in hybrid version does not benefit from the GT-line Premium finish. Like other Kia models, the car will be guaranteed for 7 years and 150,000 km.
