Mercedes-Benz India has reduced the prices of the EQC model, its first electric car battery (BEV) in India. German manufacturers sell EQC for a discount of Rs 7 lakh. Car enthusiasts can take the EV model for Rs 99.5 lakh (the price of the exhibition room), the same price as when it was launched in 2020.
The luxury car manufacturer launched the EQC in October 2020 at the old showroom price of Rs 99.3 lakh. The following year, the car received two additions and the price rose to Rs 1.06 crore. However, Mercedes is currently offering a discount of almost Rs 7 lakh and has been selling EQC for Rs 99.5 lakh since January this year. EQC has faced stiff competition from other recently launched BEV SUVs in India with similar or better specifications. But since Mercedes and other luxury car manufacturers in India do not provide official sales figures, it would not be fair to predict the competitive impact on car sales.
However, recent reductions indicate that Mercedes is not willing to pay buyers because of its excessive price. EQC currently has one of the lowest pricing of the former factory among competitors in the BEV SUV unit in India.
With an 80 kWh battery, the EQC is powered by an electric motor of 20.8-19.7 kWh / 100 km which produces a maximum power of 402.3 hp and a maximum torque of 760 Nm. can range from 0 to 100 in 5.1 seconds and reach a. top speed of 180 km / h.
Mercedes claims the EQC can travel up to 471 kilometers for a full charge and offers three charging options: home charger, AC wall socket and fast charging. The EQC fast charging unit is 50-kWh and can fully charge the car after 90 minutes. A 2.4kWh home charger can fully charge ECQ after 21 hours, while a 7.4kWh wall charger can do so. the same work for a few hours.
The company says the EQC battery is a new generation lithium-ion battery composed of 384 cells located between two axles on the floor of the vehicle. Mercedes offers a 5-year warranty with unlimited mile service and roadside assistance. EQC also has an 8-year battery war or 1.6 million miles, whatever comes first.
