The Big Car Show is coming to Le Mans this summer!

A new event is coming to the world of vintage cars, but not only. And that’s in a few weeks. It already wants to be mainstream and of a “different” concept. It’s a Big Car Show! We were invited to a press conference to present the project. We tell you all about it!

Le Mans, Circuit Bugatti, Wednesday 27 July. It is almost 10 am when I enter the room reserved for the meeting. The usual presentation, welcome coffee and a short night, other fellow journalists arrive, the meeting begins.

In front of us is Clément Rouvière. You may not be familiar with this name. The man in question works at Solido, but not only. He is also the founder of Vintage Heroes! A high capacity circuit, a car event organizer… We are not leaving Saint-Cyr but we feel the blow coming! And suddenly, it will be called The Big Car Show, and it will take place at the Bugatti circuit from August 19 to 21, 2022!

What is The Big Car Show?

Don’t look for pre-war on the spot. So the event will be a big gathering of “Youngtimers”, and driving on the Bugatti circuit.

The organizing team, Donut Events without naming, expects more than a thousand cars from the 70s to around 2000. In addition to that add 25,000m² of exhibitor village and 15,000m² of space dedicated to producers, entertainment (music, stunt, cinema …) and you have enough to take the circuit for three days with 40 to 50,000 people expected over the weekend!

Comparisons with Le Mans Classic may come to mind. Between the location and the “old car” theme, it makes sense! Yes but no.

From the mouth of Clément Rouvière himself, it is ” Le Mans is unusual“. As the (very good) event of Peter Auto is focused, above all, on the track and the competition, we are here above all in a great collection, “Vintage Heroes +++”. Youth, popular, family, sports, grand tourer, utility, petrol and why not diesel… All the barriers of the youth world will be removed at this Grand Auto Show!

In the program

In these three days, we will not have time to get bored. First of all, Khyzil Saleem, a British designer, will show us how to live 911 “in his own way”.

Did we tell you that Solido is celebrating his 90th birthday? You know now, and therefore there will be a stand of the famous brand of miniatures but also an auction of rare examples, all for charity as all profits will go to the association “Espoir Isère contre le Cancer” sponsored by the famous rallyman. Bruno Saby. Passenger laps in very nice GTs are also sold for the benefit of the association.

Amazing performances by Florian Bugs, concerts on Friday and DJ Set on Saturday, “Family” space with go-karts and parties for small children, outdoor cinema in the evening… The Car Show will be well filled no doubt.

The Great Motor Show team therefore awaits you at the Bugatti circuit from 19 to 21 August. Oh, and the details are lovely. Minimum entrance fee: €10 per day, €20 for three days, and free for children under 16. Club camping and driving sessions are also very affordable….
