  • FIAT is becoming more international: in 2023, units sold worldwide increased by 12% to a total of 1.35 million.

FIAT in 2023 has increased its international sales by 12%, registering a total of 1.35 million units sold worldwide and proving to be the first Stellantis brand by sales volume. Its global leadership is highlighted by significant results in Europe, South America, and the Middle East and Africa. The brand actually leads in its four “domestic markets” with a share of 21.8% in Brazil, 12.8% in Italy, 15.7% in Turkey and 78.6% in Algeria with different brand names at the top, respectively: Fiat Strada in Brazil, Panda in Italy, Tipo in Turkey and Algeria.

Olivier Francois, CEO of FIAT and Global CMO of Stellantis, said: “In the last year, we have grown globally, consolidating our position as a global player and, for the third year in a row, FIAT has confirmed that Stellantis is number one. Europe
Manager of FIAT’s electric strategy, last year the 500e was Europe’s number one in the A+B BEV segment with a market share of 14.7%, up 0.3 pt. compared to 2022. It also ranked first in Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Austria; the second in France.
In the city car market, FIAT registered more than 230,000 Fiat 500 (not including its BEV version) and the Panda achieved a share of 44.4%, confirming FIAT’s European supremacy.
Among Commercial Vehicles, FIAT Professional Ducato was the number one of the Stellantis Group, ranking 7th.th in the LCV market as a whole in Europe.

In Italy, FIAT is the leader in the passenger car market with 175,000 units sold, equal to 11.1% of the market share for the whole year.

  • Fiat Panda Hybrid, manufactured in Pomigliano, was the best Italian sales, with 12.th consecutive year. With the Fiat 500 Hybrid Brand reached a 66.5% share in the city car segment.
  • The Fiat 500e, manufactured in Torino Mirafiori, was the best-selling electric city car in Italy.
  • The Fiat 500X, manufactured in Melfi, has grown by 25% compared to 2022.

FIAT Professional was the market leader in commercial vehicles, with 51,000 registrations reaching a market share of 26.1% in 2023. In particular, Fiat Ducato, Doblò and Fiorino took first place in their segments, while Scudo was second with a growth of 2 , 9% compared to the previous year. In addition, the Fiat Professional Ducato, manufactured in Atessa (Italy), is the most sold in its country with more than 21,900 registrations and a market share of 29.4% (+ 10% compared to 2022).

The rest of Europe. In 2023 FIAT grew in France with almost 60,000 registered units (up +7.2% in 2022), of which 33,000 were Fiat and Abarth 500, of which 24,000 in their electric versions.
In Germany, the 500e is the best seller in the BEV A+B segment and FIAT Professional registered a 40% volume growth and +1,3 pt. Market ownership.

The 500e also dominated in Spain, earning the title of best-selling electric city car in the A+B segment, while the Fiat 500 was the best-selling city car in the A segment for the seventh consecutive year. Finally, in Spain, FIAT Professional registered a sales growth of 28%.

South America
In 2023, FIAT became South America where the Brand was the leader with a market share of 14.5% and more than 542,000 units registered (45,300 cars more than 2022), more than 94,600 cars in front of the second position.

In Brazil FIAT achieved its leadership in the hatches category (more than 140,200 and 22.6% of the segment share), pickups (172,000 cars and 42.6% share) and vans (26,250 units and 44.5% share). In the latter, the growth was 20% compared to the previous year. It is worth mentioning that in the segment of vans and light commercial vehicles, FIAT has been number one in the overall category for more than 15 years. And, for the third year in a row, the Fiat Strada was the best seller with 120,600 units and a market share of 5.5 %. In the SUV segment, Fiat Pulse and Fastback had 86,200 units sold for the year with a significant growth of 43%.

In Argentina, Fiat Cronos has been leading the market since 2021, holding first place in B-Sedan with a 71.3% share. It is also the second model in the history of FIAT in Argentina, with more than 350,000 units produced, while the Strada ranks first in B-Pickups with a 79.4% share.

The Middle East and Africa region
The performance in the MEA Region is also very impressive, especially in the Turkish market where FIAT is the first car brand to maintain a five-year leadership streak, accounting for 15.7% of the market share, also thanks to the Fiat Egea which is the best-selling car more in Turkey by 8th consecutive year. Fiat Fiorino contributes to the best results, becoming the best seller in the LCV segment.

In addition, FIAT has paved the way for its further future expansion in MEA, for the first time it re-entered Algeria in March 2023 introducing six models to meet the different mobility needs of Algerian private and professional customers. Here, FIAT is the market leader with a market share of 78.6% and more than 50,000 cars sold last year. Customers chose the Fiat 500 Hybrid, Tipo and 500X as their favorites in the passenger car segment, while the Doblo, Scudo and Ducato were the best-selling utility vehicles. The end of 2023 also saw the introduction of an exciting new model, the Fiat Titano.
