Smart Fortwo Final Collector’s Edition

Smart Fortwo Final Collector’s Edition

The Smart Fortwo convertible will have a final limited edition, called the Final Collector’s Edition. It will debut at Motor1 Days and will be produced in 21 units that will close an important chapter for the German company. This series will certainly be the last to be produced with a heat engine, as all Smart produced from 2020 will be 100% electric moving forward.

This collector’s edition marks the end of an era as Smart as we have imagined it since its introduction 21 years ago. It is powered by a 0.9 liter 90 hp petrol engine, a turbocharged 3-cylinder engine that makes the small city car a worry-free car around town. There is no doubt, however, that the electric motor will allow better performance than the 11.3 seconds it takes to bring down from 0 to 100 km / h.

The design of the Fortwo Final Collector’s Edition was entrusted to the German artist Konstantin Grcic, who created a two-tone version to mark the “team” between the Smart and its future electric generation. That’s why he made a big difference between the front part of the car and the part of the doors, painted in bright yellow that contributed to the success of the first generation of Smart, and the doors and the back part that play very matte. black. Yellow is also found on the front wheels and inside, especially on the dashboard, the back of the driver’s seat, the doors and the gear knob.

Inside, we can see other customizations, such as the text “One of 21”, as well as the number 21 present on the gear lever knob, but also on the headrests of the seats. For this rarity which is the Ultimate Collector’s Edition of the Smart Fortwo, except it is expensive as the price reaches 51,578 euros. Its first physical presentation will take place on Saturday May 18, during the Motor1 Days that will take place at the Modena autodrome.
