Trained at the Ferrari Academy, driver Mick Schumacher lost the support of the Miranello company. This is what Bild newspaper reports.

According to the newspaper, the head of the Italian team, Mattia Binotto, does not really believe about the German sportsman.

In addition to leading the Ferrari F1 team, Binotto is also responsible for overseeing the performance of the drivers trained by the academy of which Mick Schumacher is a member.

The driver built his career in Ferrari’s minor categories until he became Formula 2 champion, in 2020, with the Prema Racing team. The title caught Haas’ attention.

Therefore, Mick Schumacher was promoted to F1 last year. Nikita Mazepin was the first rookie teammate of that time.

Mazepin’s internal reference, however, was not considered satisfactory. With that, the Russian was fired, also due to the outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine.

For the 2022 season, Haas has brought back the experienced Kevin Magnussen. And Dane is surprised.

The gap between them is ten points in the F1 drivers’ championship, and 22 to 12 in favor of Magnussen.

The Ferrari-Haas business relationship could drive Mick Schumacher out of F1

Ferrari supplies engines, other car components and even specialists to Haas.

The technical director of the North American team, Simone Resta, is “on loan” to the Miranello team.

The website specialized in motorsport Motorsport assesses that the context shows that Ferrari has influence in the choice of at least one of the drivers that Haas employs to compete in F1.

On the other hand, the Italian company respects the freedom of its North American rival, completes the news site.

Regardless, the real truth is that Magnussen has a contract for next year and is retained for the upcoming F1 season.

Mick Schumacher’s situation is different. The German’s contract ends in December this year.

In an interview with Racer, Haas boss Guenther Steiner discussed the commercial relationship between the teams. Also, he talked about Michael Schumacher’s son.

“I don’t want to talk about our agreement with Ferrari because otherwise they will disturb! At the end of the day, I don’t know the real deal between Ferrari and Mick. And I don’t need to know. If he decides to go somewhere else, I can’t change that.”
