Before the summer break, the Hungaroring welcomes F1 to the Hungarian Grand Prix, a weekend that is once again sold out. The Grand Prix is already important for Charles Leclerc who will have to keep alive his hopes of a championship race.
We are announcing a rainy weekend, not today, but definitely tomorrow! The air is at 33°C, the runway shows 57°C.
Go back to French Grand Prix with our photo gallery great design!
In the Red Bull garage, we are working on Pérez’s car by installing pitot probes to work on the aerodynamics. In the first ten minutes, the best time was achieved by Charles Leclerc on line tires in 1’20″225 only 0″018 ahead of Max Verstappen, wearing the same tires. Carlos Sainz is third by 0″4. And in the second lap of the jump, Sainz will improve the score in 1’20″184, quickly beaten by his colleague in 1’19″863!
Carlos Sainz does not intend to leave Charles Leclerc alone this weekend, 1’19″671 for fastest! At Haas, we have brought great innovation to the pontoon, only for Magnusse’s car, the ‘white Ferrari’ taken by the team. Leclerc took time best at 1’19″426 and 0″244 ahead of Verstappen.
After the middle session, Russell’s Mercedes came between Leclerc and Verstappen, 0″180 behind the Briton’s W13 on a circuit that was said to be unsuitable for gray seats. Lewis Hamilton is not far behind, with 0″284 in 5th. chances are, times are tough here as usual.
In the second Alfa Romeo, it is Robert Kubica who once again replaces Valtteri Bottas. Valtteri Bottas who never gives up his bobs, we saw him at the Grand Prix de France and Paul Ricard, since the women’s Tour de France, wears a Cochonou bob including in the Hungaorring paddock.
At Aston Martin, where we learned about Vettel’s retirement before the Grand Prix, the show is still not there for the free practice sessions, the two single-seaters monopolize the last positions, more than 4″ from the reference times. It makes an aerodynamic flow with Flow Vis paint on the rear wing of the AMR22. Approaching the last quarter of an hour, Sainz is improving in 1’19 “262 but Max Verstappen is the first to go under lap 1’19, 1’18″880 !
At McLaren, we also worked a lot with the Pitot monitors on Lando Norris’ car, two single-seaters are in the Top 10, Ricciardo ahead of his fellow Briton by half a second. Sainz is the new best time holder at 1’18″750, 0″130 better than Max Verstappen. Pérez was ahead of the first sector in the dying seconds, but lost all grip as the circuit progressed.
Carlos Sainz is at the top of the time table for this first session, ahead of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. Lando Norris managed to lift his McLaren to 4th place ahead of Russell, Pérez and Hamilton, the only drivers in the same second as the leader. At Alpine, we worked a lot on the Intermediate tires for Ocon.
