Rolls-Royce electric plane makes first test flight before attempting 480km/h record | Creativity


Rolls-Royce announced that the first flight of your electric plane it was completed successfully. Called the Spirit of Innovation, the model was developed by the company be the fastest in its segment.

The goal is for the plane to hit 480 km/h, and become the fastest plane in the world. In its first demonstration, the plane flew around England for about 15 minutes.

To be as light as possible, the car takes only one person, showing its sports qualities. Still in the testing phase, the current top speed is 20% lower than expected.

To fly, the model is powered by a 400 kW (543 horsepower) power train made up of three motors connected to a 6,000-cell battery, which will be the highest-density battery ever made for an aircraft.

The project is part of the ACCEL initiative, an initiative funded in part by the UK Institute of Aerospace Technology and the UK government to develop electric aircraft.
