Fourth victory of the 2022 season and progress in the series: Porsche Junior Driver Laurin Heinrich (Deutschland / SSR Huber Racing) continues with his fine form in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. In the Zandvoort (Netherlands) round, the German won the seventh round on Saturday.
“It’s hard to get through this narrow path. So I immediately put pressure on it at the beginning and reaped the rewards. It was a lot of running but I managed to use the safety car phase to get my tires back to the most suitable temperature window.”, explains Heinrich. The second and third stage of the platform during the race to support the ADAC GT Masters were taken by Larry ten Voorde (Netherlands / Team GP Elite) and Bastian Buus (Denmark / Allied-Racing).
With the 31st Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 510 hp (375 kW) field, the start of the race seemed to be eventful. In the first corner, several cars collided, which caused them to stop for several minutes. Shortly after the resumption, Heinrich took the lead after passing ten Voordes in a pole position inside. Despite two phases of a safety car, the 20-year-old calmed down and lifted the flag in first place after 14 rounds. 0.6 seconds behind the winner. “Unfortunately, I did not have a good start to the start, and that became a decision. In that race, I managed to keep up with Laurin Heinrich but I could not get a chance to overtake him.”said ten Voorde.
Buus was delighted with his third platform this season. “My goal was to finish in the top three, so I’m happy with the result. At times, I managed to get close to Larry ten Voorde, but I did not want to risk losing my title by moving irresponsibly. », explains Dane. Fourth and fifth place went to Lucas Groeneveld (GP Elite) of the Netherlands and rookie Alexander Tauscher (Partners Race) – the best result so far for the pair at the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. Jukka Honkavuori (Finland / ID Racing) finished in sixth place but was later awarded 30 penalties for the first jump. Charging hard through the peloton, Loek Hartog (Netherlands / Black Falcon) started from 16th place on the grid to finish in sixth place. His compatriot Max van Splunteren (GP Elite Team) finished 7th ahead of Lorcan Hanafin (UK / Fach Auto Tech).
In the ProAm unit, Kim Hauschild (HRT Performance) took first place. However, the German was forced to park his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup early in the pits for burns. Jan-Erik Slooten (Germany / IronForce Racing by Phoenix) won this classification on a 4.259-kilometer stretch on the North Sea coast in front of colleagues Sören Spreng (Black Falcon) and Christof Langer (Fach Auto Tech).
Thanks to his victory, Heinrich continues to lead in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland after seven rounds of 16 with 153 points. Ten Voorde, the defending champion, holds second place (112 points) ahead of Buus (98 points).
