See some of the “dream cars” at the Ponteio Dream Car Show

  • Packard Super Eight Touring Sedan 1940 – This is the oldest car in the show. Its engine is an inline 8 cylinder. In the 1940s Packard was one of America’s most prestigious brands. Founded in 1899, its financial problems began in the late 1920s, with the “Great Depression”, which made Americans no longer able to afford their expensive cars. It went bankrupt in 1958.
  • Plymouth Barracuda 1970 – This is one of two MOPAR pony cars at the show. Another is its “cousin” Dodge Challenger, also manufactured in 1970. Both models are very similar in appearance and mechanics. The Barracuda is the forerunner of the segment, launched in 1964, two months before the Mustang.

  • Chevrolet Chevelle SS 1967 – A strong representative of muscle cars. This version of the SS 396, with about 375hp, bodywork and coupe tunes is the one with the sportiest feel. The Chevelle was produced from 1963 to 1977, in three generations.
  • Auto Union DKW F91 Limousine Special 1955 – The German sedan that the Brazilian DKW-Vemag line was built on, starting in 1957, with the launch of the Universal (later Vemaguet) station wagon. In 1955 in Germany, DKW belonged to Auto Union, a group made up of four brands: Horch, Wanderer, DKW and Audi. Despite the fancy name, it was a car as popular as Brazilian DKWs.

  • Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II 1980 – In recent days this British royal brand has been very present in Brazilian homes, whether on TV or online, because of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Built only between 1977 and 1980, the name Silver Wraith II refers to the popular RR of the 1940s, the model of our Presidential Convertible.
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale 1964 – This is the most powerful version of the Giulietta, launched in 1959. The Giulia SS was produced in just 1,400 units. The beautiful design is by Franco Scaglione.

  • Morris Mini Cooper 1982 – Known as “Mr. Bean”, this Englishman is just one of the small cars of Ponteio Dream Cars, which also includes the American Crosley CE 1948, the Italian-Argentine Fiat 600 1969 and the Brazilian Mini Dacon 828 1982 (in fact, the national only on the show..
  • 1966 Ford Galaxie Convertible XL – The similarity with the luxury sedan produced in Brazil is very great. But it’s an American convertible made a year before it was launched in Brazil. A good example is the Carmo da Mata Automobile Museum, which is located 180 kilometers from the capital city of Minas Gerais.

Other examples of displays:

Cadillac Series 62 Convertible 1951, Osdsmobile Toronado 1968, Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue 1980, Ford Thunderbird 1956, Mercedes-Benz 500 SL 1982, Crosley Sedan CE 1948, Fiat 600 19 19 Lincoln, Lincoln Continental 1919, Lincoln Den.
