Paris Motor Show 2022 – New Jeep Avenger, American cousin of Peugeot 2008

Three years after the announcement of the merger between PSA and FCA, major technical synergies are beginning to arrive within the ranks of the global automotive giant. Forming a new entry-level Jeep under the aging Renegade, the new Avenger underpins a modified version of the CMP platform known for the Peugeot 2008, DS 3 Crossback and the rest of the Opel Mokka. Shorter than the Soldier, with a length of 4.23 meters, it will carry, like the last, 100% electric motorization. Jeep is not yet communicating power, performance or battery size. But they will be at least the same as the electric power train that is similar to all current small electric cars from Peugeot, Citroën, DS or Opel (136 horse power and 50 kWh capacity). The American manufacturer already notes that its maximum autonomy will reach 400 km, a figure from what the Peugeot e-208 can do, for example (362 km WLTP).

Jeep Avenger should not be limited to 100% electric motorization: gasoline blocks will also be offered for those who prefer the good old technology of the internal combustion engine. Jeep promises the simultaneous opening of orders and that of the doors of the Mondial de l’Automobile on October 16, but only for the electric variant in a special launch version that we think is expensive and with a lot of equipment. It will be produced at the Tychy plant in Poland.

With such bold and loud styling, the Avenger has a strong case for attracting customers in the already highly competitive urban market. But we still have to discover its interior, its price and the design of its range.

Carradisiac, partner of the Paris Motor Show

As in 2018, Caradisiac is again a partner in 2022 of the Mondial de l’Auto which will take place in Paris from October 17 to 23. The Caradisiac editorial team will therefore be transferred to its stand for the duration of the show to analyze, analyze, photograph and record all new designs. And this will undoubtedly also be an opportunity for you to come, as you are used to, to meet our journalists. Which new or used car to buy? They will answer all your questions. Until then, we will give you on Caradisiac all the information we could get from the manufacturers on their new models.
