“It was a tough day for me,” Norris said. “I think there are positives with these new parts on the car, some things were working well, and I think we’re enjoying some of the improvements.”

“I made a mistake in FP22, which unfortunately cost me the whole session as it destroyed the floor,” he lamented. “So it wasn’t perfect, but I’m still hopeful for tomorrow as the car seemed to be in a good place.”

Daniel Ricciardo managed to improve by 0s352 between the two sessions, but by 1min21s385 in the afternoon. Finished with the 15th time. The Australian, however, avoided conclusions and talked about analyzing the data of the car at the end of the week.

“We’ve got a lot to grind today. We tried different setups in two sessions. We’re obviously not where we’d like to be on the timesheets, but there’s a lot to watch tonight. I think we’ll find a few things and, let’s say, find a good setup tomorrow, which we hope you put us in the top 10. “Right now, we have a lot to emulate, so I’m not sure how much to look at today,” he continued.

“It will be interesting to see the other cars and teams and what they do. But let’s focus on us and obviously everyone was discovering new things in the cars today.”
