Nissan unveils special colored Kicks at ‘Japan Festival’ in SP

Nissan’s best-selling model in the country, New Kicks won a special paint job in honor of Japanese Immigration in Brazil. The design, which combines different elements of Japanese culture, was used for the crossover unit and will be one of the highlights of Nissan’s stand at the Japan Festival, which will be held there. São Paulo (the capital), from July 15 to 17 – from today (Friday) to Sunday.

One of the biggest events of the Japanese community in Brazil, the festival will start next Friday (15th) and continue until Sunday (17th) at the São Paulo Expo, in São Paulo.

The car’s special paint job is the result of the “New Nissan Kicks Educational Design Competition”, held by Nissan do Brasil in June. With a project that includes the Sun god in Japanese mythology, Amaterasu, “The Great Wave of Kanagawa”, the work of the artist Katsushika Hokusai, and the cherry tree (the symbolic tree of Japan), Ricardo Munhoz Santiago Junior, a high school student. Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia, from São Paulo was the big winner of the competition.

In addition to the customized New Kicks, event visitors visiting the Japanese automaker’s stand will be able to see the brand’s other models, such as the Novo Versa sedan, the Nova Frontier pickup and the electric Nissan Leaf.

In a style that combines Japanese tradition and modernity, the Nissan stand will feature a large Japanese tree in the center and space. Omotenashi (hospitality, in Japanese) and a lounge.

For those who like a challenge, Nissan brings to the festival a quiz with questions about the brand itself. The automaker promises to give a unique prize to those who get the answers right.

Produced at the Nissan Industrial Park in Resende (RJ), the New Nissan Kicks was among the best sellers in the segment in several regional markets in the country.

In June, the model led its segment in Rio de Janeiro and Amapá – with more than 20% of the share in both – and was also the second best-selling compact SUV in São Paulo, with 13.7% of the segment. In addition, the new Nissan Kick was among the leaders in more than 30 major cities in the country, with an emphasis on major cities such as Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belo Horizonte (MG) and Curitiba (PR).
