Lexus introduced its updated 2023 Lexus UX 250h, which gets two new trims and slightly updated styling features, new features and a price starting at $41,450 in Canada.
The latest additions to the UX lineup are the Elegance and Design Special Edition F Sport. New features include a new multimedia system and updated interface, as well as the Lexus Safety System +2.5 which is now standard on all trims. The kit includes features such as cruise control at all speeds, automatic high beams, lane departure assist, lane keeping assist and front emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection.
New color options are also offered to buyers, with the standard colors available in Iridium Gray and Cloudburst Gray and the F Sport variant available in six colors, matching the Obsidian Black roof in a two-tone approach.
This multimedia system, called Lexus Interface and now included on all versions, includes Drive Connect and cloud-based navigation, destination assistance and a voice control system (just say “Hey Lexus” to activate it).
The 2023 UX’s cargo space remains small, given the car’s dimensions, but it does have hidden storage space under its floor.
A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is the only powertrain possible with the new UX, and of course it works with a self-charging hybrid system; The combined output is 181 horsepower, achieved in conjunction with the CVT (continuously variable transmission). All-wheel drive, available with a separate electric motor connected to the rear wheels, is present in the entire range.
Along with the UX 250h Premium and its MSRP of $41,450, the new Elegance Special Edition starts at $43,250. It features a unique interior with purple and black seats, unique 18-inch rims and adaptive headlights.
Below are the F Sport models, starting with the new F Sport Design that costs $43,100. F Sport Series 1 is offered for $44,850, F Sport Series 2 for $50,950. All these versions have sports seats with special padding, aluminum pedals, paddle shifters on the steering wheel and an Active Sound control feature that simulates the roar of the engine in the passenger compartment through a speaker located behind the dashboard.
The 2023 Lexus 250h hybrid SUV is available now at Lexus dealerships in Canada.
