Fans of the careful car game: ABT Sportsline will return to the ABB-FIA Formula E World Championships in 2023 and will present two cars from the new Gen3 generation as a customer team. After a one-year break, preparations for the return are now in full swing.
“Formula E has always played a big role in our hearts and we have never made a secret of the fact that we want to be there again,” says Hans-Jrgen Abt. The main ally took the risk in 2014 and had ABT first. The German team in Form E. Now, too, the task is to put together the best package along with sports marketing boss Harry Unflath and CEO Thomas Biermaier. “Following the internal approval, we are now talking to current and prospective partners. The goal is to get a strong team in and out of line.”
ABT was the founding member of Form E and participated in every race for the first seven years. The biggest achievements include winning the first race in the history of Form E on September 13, 2014 in Beijing, the Lucas di Grassi Drivers Championship in 2017 and winning the team classification a year later. From 2014 to 2017 is still a private team, from 2017 to 2021 people from Kempten took the use of race cars for Audi.
