more than 600 kilometers of autonomy for a large electric SUV

Polestar has launched the technical data sheet for its first SUV, available with two powertrains and a large 111 kWh battery.

Polestar waited for its third model to release an SUV. And as the first official images suggest, it’s an impressive SUV. The Polestar 3 is 4.90 meters long, the same size as the Volvo XC90. Thanks to its electric base, it benefits from an XXL wheelbase, at 2.99 meters, which shows a very good accommodation. On the other hand, the trunk has a normal capacity in relation to the size, with 484 liters.

The technical paper revealed on the Dutch market above all makes it possible to discover what is hidden in the bowels. Two configurations are in the program, both with two power blocks. The “classic” model develops 489 hp and a maximum torque of 840 Nm. The Performance Edition shows 519 hp and a maximum torque of 910 Nm. This goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds.

[Enquête] Why aren’t you around to see the Polestars in France?

Both variants use the same battery. Polestar has gone big, with a capacity of 111 kWh. This gives a range based on the WLTP cycle of 560 km for the Performance and 610 km for the standard version. For charging, it is up to 11 kW in alternating current and up to 250 kW in direct current with fast terminals.

We imagine that more common configurations will arrive later. But for now, nothing is planned in France, the launch of Polestar here is blocked by Citroën. However, these technical characteristics are interesting because they should be shared with the Volvo XC90 replacement. Volvo is preparing a new 100% electric generation, which should be on the road in 2023.
