McLaren boss Zak Brown announced last Tuesday (10) that he has signed a contract to fulfill the former wishes of the American Mario Andretti. The 1978 season champion of the formula 1 will drive for the British team during the US GP in Austin, which is scheduled for October 23.
“I made a deal with Mario Andretti to cross something off the list of things he’d like to do. He’s going to drive the original car formula 1 McLaren this year at the US GP in Austin,” Brown announced on social media.

Driving a McLaren will be a new experience for Andretti. Owner of 12 victories in formula 1the American raced for Ferrari, Lotus and Parnelli, taking part in a total of 182 races. Now, he will fulfill his wish to lead the British team at the age of 82. Mario also has the 1969 Indianapolis 500 victory under his belt and four indiein 1965, 1966, 1969 and 1984.
