Mazda has broken the Guinness record with 707 MX-5s on the track


The largest meeting of the Mazda model took place last September 18 at the Modena circuit in Italy, and even set a new Guinness record.

The biggest fans of Mazda’s small roadster, the MX-5, gathered last weekend at the Autodromo de Modena, in Italy, with the aim of breaking a new Guinness record.

With the name “Il Raduno dei Recorde MX-5”, or “MX-5 Record Meeting”, there were more and more people who wanted to share with their model, which now has four generations. And at 6 p.m. on the 18th, Sunday, 707 models of the beautiful Mazda road were present, registering a new Guinness World Record for the largest collection of Mazda cars on the planet. The previous record was almost a decade, having been registered in 2013, in the Netherlands with 683 units of this model.

At the meeting last weekend, units from all generations of this model were present, as well as several people who share this passion, such as the Japanese engineer Nobuhiro Yamamoto, Program Manager of the 3rd and 4th generation Mazda MX-5, and Elisa. Artioli, passionate model and grandson of Romano Artioli, former Lotus keeper, and also by Andrea Levy, President of the MI.Mo Milano Monza Motor Show. Speakers presented different stories to explain what inspired their love for the MX-5 and the driving pleasure that Mazda is known for as Jinba Ittai, symbolizing the intuitive relationship between a Mazda car and its driver. there was still time and space for many other activities, always related to the MX-5 and the Hiroshima brand.
