Championship leader Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) qualified in second row in F3, ahead of his rival Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP).
The two French drivers are in the fight for the title in this final of the FIA Formula 3 championship.
While Martins made sure to qualify well in fourth place, young Hadjar unfortunately missed the top spot on the Parabolic before getting stuck in the gravel trap.
The Red Bull Junior Team Group will only be sixteenth on the grid, which means that its chances of winning are severely compromised.
In a good position for Sunday morning’s main race, Russian Alex Smolyar (MP Motorsport) will be ahead of Trident drivers Zane Maloney and Roman Stanek as well as Martins and Prema’s best representatives, Arthur Leclerc and Oliver Bearman.

As a reminder, Martins leads the provisional classification with 126 points to 121 in Hadjar, 109 in Stanek, 105 in Bearman, 102 in Maloney and 101 in Leclerc: doubts therefore remain.
The start of the first round will be broadcast at 10:30am tomorrow morning, followed live on Canal + Sport, with Caio Collet (MP Motorsport) on pole on the back grid.
