The best-selling Lexus brand in North America is getting a makeover for 2023 and yesterday, the company introduced us to its biggest star. Although we often have the right to evolution rather than revolution in terms of style, there are some changes to put in your mouth.

Let’s start with the release of the hero, the 3.5-liter V6 engine that has served the model for months, that is, 1998. It has been released for the new year.

Base RX 350 models will be powered by a 2.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder (275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque). This engine will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

As for the hybrid version, the offer is getting stronger. The model we know as the RX 450h becomes the RX 350h looking like a curtain raiser. It will be powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder and electric motors (all-wheel drive), all good for 246 horsepower and 233 lb-ft of torque.

The new RX 450h+ (plug-in hybrid) will join the family in 2023. Lexus has not yet detailed its powertrain, but its name is the same as the NX’s 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. So we can expect to inherit the RX 350h’s engine, but that a larger battery pack will be present to provide more power, as well as electric freedom.

Then, the F Sport version will always be on the menu. This time, we will talk about the Sports Performance of the RX 500h F. The 4-cylinder engine is still mentioned, but this time with two electric motors and a six-speed automatic transmission. The result can be 367 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. More efficient brakes (six pistons in front) will be part of it. You shouldn’t expect to see this model competing with the BMWs and Audis of this world, but for those looking for a little more dog for their Lexus SUV, it could be interesting.

As for the design, we are talking about the Toyota GA-K (TNGA) platform. It is he who receives the ES sedan. The new design makes the RX 198 pounds lighter than the current model thanks to a composite material design. It won’t hurt!

At the same time, the wheelbase gets 2.4 inches, but the length of the car remains the same. This means increased legroom in the rear seats, as well as the amount of luggage. The company, however, offers a three-layer version.

Regarding the style of the model, we recognize the new signature of the brand introduced by the NX, but also other elements of the RZ electric SUV.

On board, it looks great and the fact that the new multimedia system interface no longer uses the Lexus touchpad (which has made us blaspheme violently over the years).
