Land Rover unveils Pantanal-inspired Defender; each buyer will have “his ounce” | versions


Land Rover Defender Onçafari is the name of a new and unique version of a popular utility for Brazil. Its sales will be reduced to 25 units, its price BRL 676,950, each other. This new selection comes from the Pantanal of Brazil and each buyer will have a uniqueness: the “name” of the jaguar in the area.

If you don’t understand, we will explain it to you. The new edition was launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Onçafari project, created to promote wildlife conservation and social and environmental initiatives. Since 2019 Land Rover has been a partner in the project.

Defender Onçafari carries a badge with the project’s 10-year logo. Each plate also bears the name of a jaguar tracked by the institute. All units are based on the Defender 110 version, which has a 2.0 turbo engine with 300 hp and 40.7 kgfm. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic and the all-wheel drive is permanent.

Visually, this wild-looking version features a camouflage print on the hood, sides and on the spare tire cover that rests on the trunk lid.

Inside, the model received Lunar-colored seats, a roof and Light Oyster Morzin coating and a rough-cut Walnut finish in some of the car’s details, implying wood.

The Land Rover Defender Onçafari also comes with a sticker card with drawings and scientific names of animals common to the Pantanal of Brazil. According to the manufacturer, the customer can stick the stickers wherever they want, creating their own “Easter eggs”.

Among the main items of the range, this special edition has black roof rails, internal sockets and an active electronic differential, fixed side steps, a mobile roof ladder, front guards and front and rear mudguards, protection of wheel arches, 20 wheels, snorkel, roof rack. and support for external devices.

In the safety package, the spotlight goes to All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) with a configurable Terrain Response system, adaptive cruise control and a head-up display system with information projection on the windshield.
