Honoring its long tradition of off-roading and exploration, Land Rover Classic has raised the curtain on an exclusive run of 25 Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy IIs inspired by the expeditions and adventures that belong to them.

For seven decades, Land Rovers have explored the unreachable. Each of the vehicles has a unique exterior that shows the 23 sections that the famous 4×4 has faced in more than 70 years of events, among which are the points they faced during the Camel Cup, First Overland and G4 Challenge. The exterior also hides the iconic silhouette of a number of Land Rovers, which owners will be able to recognize.

As well as the opportunity to own an exclusive collector’s car, customers are invited to take part in the second edition of the Land Rover Trophy, an exclusive three-day competition. The Land Rover Trophy allows enthusiasts to create lasting friendships, create memories and give their Defender Classic the first patina combined with an unforgettable experience. With professional guidance, owners will take part in a series of off-road challenges, based on the areas we have traveled during our famous international events. After three days of competition, one team will walk away with the grand prize. Everyone will have created lasting memories and will have been able to familiarize themselves with their machine in the most amazing way.

The Classic Defender Works V8 Cup, is based on the 2012-2016 Defender models, rebuilt by hand to the highest standards. They receive an improved specification, developed by the dedicated team at Land Rover Classic.

The defender has caught fire all over the world. Our latest Classic Works V8 Trophy II exemplifies this touring heritage in its unique exterior design, which pays homage to some of these beautiful locations. Each of the 25 vehicles available is a labor of love, seen, assembled and modified by our team of passionate professionals. As well as taking delivery of the collector car, owners will have the unique opportunity to test theirs at the Land Rover Trophy event.

MICHAEL VAN DER SANDE, GENERAL DIRECTOR, JAGUAR LAND ROVER SPECIAL VEHICLE OPERATIONS.

Powered by Land Rover’s five-liter petrol V8, which develops 405 horsepower and 515 Nm of torque, the limited edition model is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Each model underwent a complete redesign with a strengthened suspension, improved steering and updated brakes. Available in 90 and 110 Station Wagon versions as well, for the first time in Trophy form, in the 110 Double Cab Pick-Up. Of the 25 vehicles, Land Rover Classic will only build five Double Cab Pickups, with the remaining 20 split evenly between the 90 and 110 Station Wagon bodies.

The exterior features a contrasting black and white theme, a unique stripe developed by the Land Rover Special Vehicles design team. The body is finished in Fuji White with a Narvik Black roof and gloss black components, down to the smallest parts including rivet heads, hardware and vents. The 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels complete the look with their sawtooth design.

The tape highlights 23 routes that Land Rover has conquered in more than 70 years of off-road exploration. These include historic off-road challenges, as well as recent Land Rover expeditions, to South Africa, Laos or Peru.

A variety of exterior accessories ensure off-road performance. At the front, the A-shaped shield includes a winch below the modified grille. The satin black bonnet reduces glare in bright light conditions, while the 1.27m wide LED light bar provides a perfect off-road look at night.

The Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II, capable of crossing 500mm of curbs, receives a rear tow ring, rock protection pads and an external anti-roll loop for better safety. At the rear, a ladder provides access to the Expedition Roof Rack, while attention to detail is taken in the Land Rover Trophy badge and white logos on the wheel arches.

Recaro sports seats, combining support and comfort, are upholstered in Windsor leather, black and white with contrasting stitching. Leather trim extends to the dashboard, doors and headliner, showcasing quality craftsmanship at every step.

The Land Rover Classic’s infotainment system, which includes navigation and mobile device connectivity, ensures that the latest multimedia options are integrated into the original dashboard. Land Rover’s ergonomic gear lever ensures optimal control of the ZF automatic transmission.

The Land Rover Trophy dashboard clock, designed by Elliot Brown, is the central piece that completes the dashboard, its chime occupying the outer cover. Once again, Elliot Brown offers Trophy II owners a unique, solid timepiece in the exclusive Parallel Edition. Meanwhile, for those unlucky enough to get hold of one of the limited edition cars, Elliot Brown is offering a 1000 hour inspired Land Rover Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy II.

Finally, for those looking to upgrade their own Defender and give it a Works V8 Trophy II look, Land Rover Classic will be offering genuine Trophy-inspired kit later this year.

The 90, 110 and 110 Double Cab Classic Defender Works V8 Trophy IIs are available to buy direct from Land Rover Classic.
