With iOS 16, Apple has made sure to provide a large number of new features and various improvements such as the possibility of uninstalling native apps, the redesign of Focus Mode on the iPhone or simplifying photo copies.

In addition, the latest version of Apple’s OS also provides the whole new advanced parental control systemwhich specifically allows to activate additional security in communication in iMessages.

As Apple has just announced, these new parental controls will be available from the start of the 2022 school year in France and Germany. Specifically, it will include an enabling feature iPhone detect the presence of nudity or images of a sexual nature in messages.

To enable this feature, parents must first have turned on Family Sharing in iCloud. They get this new security option on the tab “Screen Time”. Once this is done, when the child receives the picture, AI will analyze it locally (no data passed to Apple).

After reading these instructions, the child will have the option not to see the picture or vice versa to look at it, or to look at it. inform one of his parents (or a responsible adult). Apple is also planning countermeasures for children trying to send nudity, and a message to warn them about the dangers of this behavior. He will also be invited to talk to relatives.

However, the child remains the only master on the board and can still send pictures if he wants. However, we regret that this new feature is only available on iOS 16 and in iMessages. Indeed, there is no similar filtering offered on other instant messaging apps. Finally, we see some improvements on the Secret sidewhich can now answer various questions that a child may have about this sensitive subject.
