Unfortunately for him, the pain will remain and after a new MRI, the situation will change. “Since then I have been dealing with severe back pain without really understanding it. The new scan revealed two new fractures of the D4 and D5 vertebrae which unfortunately will keep me out of racing for a few weeks. It will be very difficult for me to stay at home recovering because running is my life. »

After winning several prestigious races this season (9 hours of Kyalami, 24 hours of Spa), the Mercedes driver suffered a setback, remaining on 16 podiums in 21 races.
