These XCIENT fuel cell trucks will be delivered to 7 companies in the logistics, manufacturing and retail sectors under a program funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV). BMDV provides subsidies for the acquisition of batteries, fuel cells and hybrid vehicles, as well as for the installation of refueling and charging infrastructure. With a total budget of 1.6 billion euros, its funding is provided until 2024.
In July 2021, Hyundai revealed that in just 11 months of operation in Switzerland, its 46 hydrogen trucks had traveled more than 1 million kilometers. The South Korean company noted that this fleet has now accumulated more than 4 million kilometers.
