Contrary to popular saying, one also moves in the winning team. The sales leader among passenger cars in 2022, Hyundai HB20 will have important news soon. Launched in 2019, the current generation of the compact hatch will get a facelift and new versions as early as July this year. The HB20S sedan is also expected to follow the changes from the hatch version. The information is from the Autos Segredos website.
Information should focus on the front of the Hyundai HB20. Instead of the confusing look revealed almost three years ago, the small hatch made in Piracicaba (SP) will have lines that follow Hyundai’s current design identity. The new HB20 2023 should bring new headlights and a new bumper. On the other hand, the front grille can keep its current shape. Designer Kleber Silva gave two estimates of how the Hyundai HB20 could look based on the new Tucson.
At the back, the new Hyundai HB20 should bring slim-shaped LED headlights, reminiscent of the parts used by the new generation Tucson. As expected from the screenshots of the hatch in tests in South Korea, they must be connected to a black plastic bar. As in SUVs, turn signals and reversing lights must be placed on the bumper.
In the case of the HB20S sedan, the rear changes should be more timely, and the rear lights should get new interior and rear lights. On the sides, the only novelty should be the light alloy wheels with an unprecedented design. On the inside, the new HB20 should also get new finishing materials and information from the equipment list.
Under the hood, the 1.0 and 1.0 turbo engines must be kept. However, the expected option must be modified to be better and more powerful, exceeding 75/80 hp (petrol/ethanol) and 92/110 Nm of torque (g/e), always with 5 gears.
Versions with a turbo engine should have manual or automatic transmission options, both 6-speed. According to Autos Segredos, the hatch will be available in Comfort, Diamond, Evolution, Limited, Icon, Vision and Special Edition versions. In addition, the HB20 may also follow in the footsteps of the Creta and later beat the sporty-looking version of the N Line.
