Groupe Renault confirms the new Lada Niva for 2024

Among the many announcements of the Renaulution program, it must be noted that, almost secondary for us, Western Europeans, the revival of Lada. The Russian brand is an institution in the land of Tsars, first with Jigouli, then with Niva, one of the most famous small franchisors in the world.

Niva which recently disappeared from the European market but which continues its work in Russia, again under the name Niva (it had taken the name “4×4”). And its future has now been confirmed by Groupe Renault and its Russian subsidiary Avtovaz.

The Business Unit developed by Dacia will enable Lada to benefit from the recent CMF platform, with its “B” version. It is he who will be used for the next generation of Niva, confirmed for 2024.

The LADA and Dacia product lines will be based on the highly flexible and cost-effective CMF-B platform. Together, the brands will produce more than one million vehicles based on CMF-B per year, growing from four platforms to one and from 18 body types to 11. The joint goal is to launch the potential of LADA and DACIA by making them international products. in their own right so that they can go beyond their current scope in terms of markets and groups.

In terms of products, AVTOVAZ is improving the LADA product program with four new models that will be sold by 2025, as well as a new generation of the legendary Niva in 2024 and a new vehicle in the C-SUV segment in 2025, to support both market shares and value creation“.

Is the return of Niva and this platform possible? It is impossible, the goal of Lada being Russia (20% share in its domestic market of Lada), and with a network that does not exist. And above all, now that Lada and Dacia will share everything, it seems impossible to see competition between the two brands in Europe.
