“The Sierra 1500 AT4X is an amazing platform in terms of on-road and off-road performance and capability,” said Dave Harriton, CEO and Founder of AEV. “We’ve taken our own unique approach to help elevate this off-road truck’s capabilities to the next level. We’re confident customers will love the results.”
AEV’s front and rear stamped steel canisters are constructed of 3mm thick heavy duty steel and powder coated with an electronic coating for added durability as well as UV and corrosion resistance. Additionally, the factory-installed front bumper is winch-compatible, an advantage that no other competitor in its class can achieve.1.
Five heat-sealed, high-strength boron plates help protect the lower body of the Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition. This pressure-treated steel is not only three and a half times stronger than a cold-rolled high-strength steel part, but it also offers incredible resistance to denting and deformation.
When it’s time to go off-road, the Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition’s bumpers and underbody protection offer capabilities never before offered on a public edition Sierra 1500.
Compared to the 2022 Sierra 1500 AT4X, the AEV version offers improved off-road stats. The front trail angle increases by more than 27% to 32.5 degrees. The rear overhang angle improves to 23.4 degrees (from 23 degrees) and the ramp angle increases to 23 degrees (from 22.7 degrees). The truck’s ground clearance is also increased to 11.2 inches (compared to 10.8 inches).
The AEV version is built on the Sierra 1500 AT4X version that offers a unique interior and superior off-road capabilities. Key features such as DSSV fluids from Multimatic, electronic front and rear differential locks and a two-speed transfer case with a choice of different off-road modes, such as ground mode for single-pedal driving and off-road mode road. Meanwhile, the Sierra 1500 AT4X offers excellent off-road comfort and towing ability with the 6.2L V8 engine. The AEV version also includes the Obsidian Rush AT4X interior, which focuses on luxury and technology. The interior features power adjustable front seats, fully bolstered in full grain leather, genuine Vanta ash trim, Bose audio system.MD Premium Series digital display with 12 speakers and focused on the driver over 40 inches, which is unrivaled in its class.1.
Later in the 2023 model year, the Sierra 1500 AT4X will be available with AEV-led upgrades including a winch-compatible steel front bumper, front boron steel approaching skid plate and 33″ Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. These improvements will increase the AT4X’s already formidable off-road capabilities with improved approach, rear flares and ramp angles, as well as increased ground clearance.
The new 2023 Sierra 1500 AT4X will continue to have a balanced performance that delivers great off-road capability when needed without compromising the comfort, technology and on-road capability that customers have come to expect from a GMC truck. The new Sierra 1500 AT4X will have a maximum payload of 585 kg and a maximum towing capacity of 3946 kg.
