“France deserves to stay on the F1 calendar”

Pierre Gasly hopes the French Grand Prix will still be on the Formula 1 calendar next season.

Did France host its last Formula 1 Grand Prix? If Paul-Ricard is in danger of disappearing from the 2023 F1 calendar, Pierre Gasly refuses to believe it.

The Norman driver, who joined the very closed circle of Grand Prix winners two years ago, reiterated the fact that France, a great motorsport nation, had its place on the Formula 1 calendar.

“I was very moved to see all these French flags last weekendcommented Gasly at the Hungaroring. It was my first time to see a French Grand Prix like this. And the first time I had an experience like this since my victory in Monza in 2020.

“You can see that people really like Formula 1 in our country, and I sincerely hope that we will still have the French Grand Prix next year, or even the year after, because I think it deserves to be on the F1 calendar.” he hammers again.

“This sport is part of our DNA, it always has been. We have Alpine, we have two French drivers… and even two and a half if you count Charles [Leclerc] ! If it is not possible in this circuit, I hope that we will find a solution elsewhere. »
