Ford is preparing to enter the Metaverse with virtual cars and NFTs

American car manufacturer Ford Motor Company is the latest car brand that is preparing to enter the world of non-fungal tokens (NFTs) and Metaverse — is filing 19 trademark applications on its core automotive products.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) licensing attorney Mike Kondoudis revealed on Twitter that the company had filed for 19 of its car brands, including the Mustang, Bronco, Lincoln, Explorer and F- 150 Lightning, among them. others.

According to USPTO documents submitted and Ford on September 2, the automaker plans to create downloadable art, text, audio and video with its cars, SUVs, trucks and vans, which will be authenticated by NFTs.

The company also launched initiatives for “virtual downloadable products”, i.e. “computer software” with auto parts and accessories and apparel for use in a “virtual online world”, including virtual reality and augmented reality virtual reality shows.

There are also plans to create a marketplace to promote “digital art of others” through the site, as well as “online retail store services with non-inventable tokens (NFTs) and digital collectibles.”
