Fiat Chrysler (FCA) announced this Friday (13) a remember of 8 models of the Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Fiat brands in Brazil, due to the failure of the electronic injection, which can prevent the automatic from being disabled.

In total, 19,957 cars are driven by this problem in the country. See the models affected by the final chassis numbers:

  • Jeep Compass (2016 to 2018) – H00104 to J01073
  • Jeep Cherokee (2014 and 2015) – 134303 to 792687
  • Jeep Grand Cherokee (2014 to 2018) – 265215 to 423556
  • Fiat Freemont (2014 and 2015) – 100154 to 680020
  • Dodge Journey (2014 to 2018) – 105355 to 412307

If the autopilot is on, the last failure in the injection will not allow the system to be turned off, keeping the car at a constant speed, and the risk of a serious accident.

Starting next Monday (the 16th), owners must schedule a trip to the dealer to update the electronic injector master software.

The free fix should take about 30 minutes. FCA recommends avoiding using the automatic (cruise control) until the software is updated.
