The first part of the World Championship formula 1 the year 2022 ended this Sunday (31), and Hungarian GP. The race highlighted what we have seen most of the year: Ferrari finding a way to lose the race it was leading. Although public opinion around the world has reached a consensus that Ferrari has distorted Charles Leclerc’s strategy, boss Mattia Binotto has denied everything.

According to Binotto, Leclerc did not have good speed on any type of tire. Curious accusations, as Charles led the race after more than half and left teammate Carlos Sainz. Even Leclerc himself he said he did not understand why he was stopped when I would like to stretch the middle tire section.
“We have to try to analyze what has happened in the last few days. Indeed, today we did not have the performance of any tires, medium or hard. Our performance was not as expected,” he said.
“The car was probably not as good because of the weather compared to Friday. Today, the car didn’t do well and it was the first time in 13 races this happened. It wasn’t what we expected.”
“Looking at Friday, we had a speed advantage over our rivals. Something we didn’t have today. We knew that the hard tires would be difficult to warm up and that they wouldn’t be as fast as the medium ones for 11 or 12 laps, but it was 30 laps.”
“We believe that somehow they can leave us in the race and maintain a good position. In general, it did not work as expected. We must see everything analyzed”, he concluded. Leclerc dropped from the leader to sixth place.
THE formula 1 is now wrapping up summer vacation activities. Just four weeks from now, between the 26th and 28th of August, at Spa-Francorchamps, with the Belgian GP.
