Matt Kew is Autosport’s F1 Editor, a position he has held since March 2022 after covering Formula E, Extreme E and the British Touring Car Championship.
Matt joined Autosport in 2018 to work on the magazine, but his frequent quotes from Alan Partridge quickly made his office colleagues think he would be better suited to the increased field work.
Matt obviously had the last laugh when he won the Motorsport UK Young Journalist of the Year award in 2019.
His interest in motorsport was fueled by frequent trips to watch ASCAR crash near Rockingham Oval.
Matt studied Politics and Philosophy at the University of Sheffield – he was awarded a first class for his thesis assessing the lack of women’s participation in high-level motor racing.
He covered a variety of national races and rallies for Autosport as a freelancer before committing to it full time. His efforts to defend the merits of the historic race are thwarted by James Bond’s questionable taste in music and actors.
