Jeeps produced in Goiana (PE) share a 2.0 turbo engine (170 hp) and use a nine-speed automatic transmission. In urban use, the Compass recorded an average of 10.1 km/h.
already Commanderwhich offers seven seats, was the most economical on the road: an average of 17.2 km / l.
Larger and for off-road activities, the Trailblazer and SW4 used the power of their 2.8 turbo engines, both with more than 200 hp.
The Toyota model was the fastest in the recovery test, while the Chevrolet was the best in acceleration.
HOW THE TESTS ARE DONE
To measure the performance of vehicles, IMT (Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia) uses V-Box, devices that use GPS signals.
Acceleration and restart tests are carried out on the track of the ZF company, in Limeira (in the countryside of São Paulo).
The point to check the use in the city is 27 kilometers long. To simulate a road trip at 90 kilometers per hour, the engineers drive for 31 kilometers. Both routes are located in São Caetano do Sul (ABC), where the headquarters of the institute are located.
If the car is flex-fuel, two tests are done: one with ethanol, the other with gasoline.
The consumption of electric models is measured through a charger installed on the IMT. The test calculates the cost of running 100 km in urban and road conditions.
