Defender 007 special edition wins the rally

Mark Higgins and co-driver Claire Williams won the North Wales leg of the 2022 Defender Bowler Challenge in Dolgellau, Wales, running in 55 minutes and 12 seconds.

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 007 film, Land Rover has developed the Defender 90 Bowler – 007, specially customized with a special paint job referencing the James Bond films. The spy’s partner for many years, the Land Rover put the Defender to work at the Bowler Defender Challenge in Wales, where he was crowned champion last weekend.

The winning team was made up of sailor Claire Williams and Mark Higgins, the famous stunt driver behind four James Bond films (Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Specter and No Time to Die). The pair finished one minute and 41 seconds ahead of their nearest rivals, and marked Higgins’ return to off-road competition, a sport in which he was a three-time British champion.
