THE to celebrate its fourth year, Cupra opened a ‘City Garage’ in the heart of Lisbon. A space consisting of two distinct areas that have distinctive features and characteristics of the building design.
The ground floor is dedicated to public exhibitions, cultural and lifestyle events, while the basement is a casual and multidisciplinary space for private events and business meetings. In total, the Cupra space, located in Rua do Ouro, has approximately 400 square meters.
At the opening of this space, this Tuesday night, was the CEO of Cupra, Wayne Griffiths.
“Cupra City Garages” are key elements in the brand’s strategy. We want to create unique and emotional experiences and have our own home in famous and unique places in famous cities in the world, such as Lisbon”, he said.
The open space in Lisbon followed the existing ‘City Garages’ in Mexico City, Milan, Hamburg and Munich. Cupra expects similar positions this year in Rotterdam and Sydney.
In 2021, Cupra tripled its sales, reaching 79,300 vehicles sold, 189.4% more than in 2020 (27,400) thanks to Formentor. The brand is already present in European markets such as Germany, Spain, Portugal, UK and France, and is expanding to countries such as Mexico, Israel and Turkey. This year, the brand will begin operations in Australia as a strategic move towards expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.
