After the H Type, it is the 2CV Fourgonnette that inspires the Italian coachbuilder Caselani. He designed an original body kit based on the Citroën Berlingo to revive the car adored by the craftsmen.
Since 2017, Italian coachbuilder Caselani has been providing kits to give the H-Type a modern look for the Citroën Jumper then Jumpy and Spacetourer. After great success, especially with technicians who convert it into a food truck or a flatbed truck for example, the expert covers another Chevrons legend: the 2CV Fourgonnette.
The front is completely different from the usual Berlingo
A few days ago, Caselani posted a teaser on his social networks announcing the news. The builder has posted a new photo, this time official. It is a conversion based on the current Citroën Berlingo. The model, which is now only sold in electric mode, is based on the CMP architecture of the Stellantis group. The aesthetics have been revised, especially at the front with rounded fenders, round headlights and a large old-style grille. Much of the bodywork opts for paper-like tin strips, as in the inspiration. The roof benefits from a box type reminiscent of that of the 2CV Van adored by craftsmen.
The 2CV Van Berlingo kit was approved by the Citroen teams last summer, as Caselani distributes its vehicles under Citroen’s license. At the moment, Caselani has not yet revealed all the details of this kit, which can be sold in a limited series. The price was also not disclosed.
